LG has come up with a remarkable new technology. The company has introduced its new technology that promises to definitively solve one of the biggest problems of OLED screens, the burning problem. This new panel, called Dream OLED, will eliminate that headache-inducing problem in OLED TVs. It will also reduce energy consumption. Here are the details…
How does Dream OLED technology work?
The new technology introduced by LG comes to life with a new panel with dual phosphorescence and fluorescent blue OLEDs to increase the durability of the panel. To make a small comparison, the company’s WOLED screens use a white light emitting layer that passes through RGB filters; Samsung uses a blue layer that stimulates RGB quantum dots to create the image.
The factor that causes the burning problem in televisions is known as the infrastructure of the light emitting layer containing the blue OLEDs that illuminate the screen. This infrastructure, which consumes more energy than others, produces more heat. It also provides less brightness. Therefore, if the screen is left on in a static state for too long, it causes burning.
The exciting new Dream OLED technology announced by LG is currently in the production evaluation phase. It is estimated that it will take another year or so for the technology to reach its final form. It is expected that new TVs and monitors featuring this technology will take even longer to reach the market.
